Three in the Morning

It's the little things like falling asleep to the rhythm of Kakashi's chest rising and falling that cause Sasuke to realize he will never be able to sleep alone again.

It wasn't just the sex. (But that's not to say that the sex didn't have anything to do with it.)

What attracted Sasuke to the prospect of sleeping with someone else, with another man, for example, was the comforting warmth of his body. Although Kakashi was not by any means a large man (he was thin and lean, flesh taut over long bones), he took up a lot of space. When Sasuke would wake at three in the morning, Kakashi's presence alone would be enough to chase the nightmares away.

But the best part about sleeping with someone, Sasuke decided, was being able to fall asleep to the rhythm of his chest rising and falling, with one leg tossed haphazardly over his thigh.

That was why, after Sasuke had been sleeping with Kakashi for about three weeks, he realized--quite simply--that he would never be able to sleep alone again.
