The sun had risen in Izea, home of the Light Angels. These angels had pure hearts and dedicated their lives to good. They were in constant battle with the inhabitants of Heiko, land of the Dark. The sunlight crept through the cracks in curtains, waking angels throughout the kingdom. Among those waking angels were Daisuke, level B1 in light magic, level C4 in Dark.
With a yawn, he stretched and got out of bed, opening the curtains fully and shielding his eyes while he slowly adjusted to the brightness. He smiled when he looked out; it was a beautiful day. He quickly got dressed and ran to the phone, planning to call Krad and ask if he wanted to spend the day together, but his angelic smile turned into a frown as he remembered that Krad had been exiled from Izea. A single solitary tear slid down his face as he remembered the fateful day when his best friend was forced to leave.
(Dai's Point of View)
- Flashback -
"For the crimes you have committed, you shall be no longer recognised by our race. Leave, flee to the demons, as I know they shall welcome you with open arms."
Krad smiled, a pure sadistic one, and turned to leave, but not before stopping before me and ruffling my hair, "Take care, kid. We might meet again someday. I hope..."
He said the last bit quieter, but I still heard. I cried into his chest. "Why do you have to go? You're my only true friend, and now you're going!"
Krad hugged me, a friendly hug, and whispered, "I'm sorry Dai, and I wish I didn't do it, but I couldn't help myself, I don't belong here."
He plucked a single pure white feather from his back and handed it to me. It was different from all the other feathers; it had thin silver lines running through it, like tiny veins.
He laughed at my confused expression and started to walk to the edge of Izea. He gave a final wave before diving off the clouds, away from Izea, maybe to never return.
- End Flashback -
Even though it had been a whole month, it felt like only yesterday, I didn't want to accept the fact that he wouldn't be there for me anymore. Every day I would wake up, and forget he was gone. I would run to the phone, and pick it up, just to put it down again.
Iremembered the feather he had given me, and ran and got it; the tiny silver threads were still pulsating through it.
I don't know what happened exactly, but I felt a burst of energy, a new confidence, like something had woken inside me, and I decided, I would find Krad, and take him from the Land of the Dark, and bring him back to Izea, and beg for the Elders forgiveness for him.
I ran down the stairs, and was just opening the door when I heard Emiko call for me to eat. Yummy. Pancakes. My Fav!
I'll go find Krad after… or... something.
