Teal'c envied Daniel Jackson.
He watched from their table as Daniel Jackson slopped some of the airforce regulation food onto his tray. He was quite oblivious to the glances of various female cadets; and some male ones, Teal'c noted with amusement. He remembered the younger Daniel Jackson; innocent, barely able to hold a P90 straight. Teal'c briefly mourned the loss of this happier Daniel Jackson. Loss and death had hardened him somewhat, but he still managed to hold on to some precious strands of naivety and wonderment of the worlds around him. He still managed to become excited at what O'Neill termed as 'rocks'. It was partly down to his unerring compassion that SG:1 had stayed alive, and together. Daniel Jackson had seen things someone like himself shouldn't have seen, but refused to let it make him cynical.
