Finally the day has come. Tess is leaving Drover's Run...
As you can probably tell this is a story about Tess leaving Drover's Run. It was inspired by my insomnia and my friends over at the Aussie Fan Fic Forum. I am hoping the story will be complete in three short chapters.

This is my seventh published fan fiction and my first McLeod's Daughters story. All reviews are most welcome.
I was horrified to discover that it was almost the end of 2005 and I had posted not one word of a story on the site this year. For anyone interested in my Voyager story Within it is not dead, it is still a work in progress.

Chapter One: Prologue - Tess
Drover's Run.
Even without her realizing it had been a part of her for her whole life. She began her life here, she was born to this land. She was happy, a daughter, a sister, part of a family - Tess McLeod.
Then without warning she was taken away and her father, her sister, her family, her home was gone. Then she was no longer Tess McLeod. Life was different, now she was another little girl - Tess Silverman. But deep inside she was still the little girl from Drover's Run.
Finally one day she came back. No longer a little girl, her mother, her father gone. Her family was fractured, changed, her sister unknown. But the land was still the same, timeless, encompassing, it seemed to somehow know her, accept her. Though at first she did not want it to, the land again became her home. Now she was Tess Silverman-McLeod who belonged on Drover's Run.
Time passed, the world turned, things grew, new lives were created, people died. Her family was different now, less, but in many ways so much more. Now she was a friend, a partner, a boss, a workmate, a neighbour, an auntie, a lover and a wife. Drover's Run had watched over it all. Now she was Tess Ryan and for now and forever she was a part of Drover's Run.
