Finally she realised they could do nothing for Professor Flitwick without getting some help. Her and Ginny ran to the top of the dungeons at the same moment as several dark figures past them.
She caught eyes with one of the figures, and gasped.
It was as if time stood still. Here he was, an oppressive, immature boy usually. But now, he was weak. He had the salty waters of grief streaming from his tear ducts, dishevelled hair, torn robes and fear in his eyes. He turned and watched her as he ran past, but he didn't notice the grip on his potions professor's arm, nor his own hyperventilation, nor the numerous shoves in his back, or the screaming to 'hurry up'. All he noticed was the worried face of someone who could have helped him had he made his choices sooner.
And
I'd give up forever to touch you
Cause I know that you feel me
somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I
don't want to go home right now
They had a connection at
the moment, the good girl and the bad boy. The pure prince and the
muggleborn mistress. He saw a possible saviour, a distant hope. She
saw the faults of the past, how easily she could have saved this boy.
She felt guilt, sorrow and pity. Finally she realised that she was as
innocent as he. Neither could help it, yet both were pushed into
stereotypes because of who their parents were.
And all
I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
Cause sooner or later it's over
I just don't want to miss you
tonight
Both knew they would not rather be elsewhere. This was a moment of truth, a moment of awakening.
And I don't want the world to see
me
Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When
everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am
It finally hit the two teenagers that they were in the middle of the war. No, they were the war. After all, wasn't the feud a futile one between those of pure blood and those without it? Of course, it was on a greater scale than just two teenagers, but if they could come together, could they bring their sides together too? Would two teenagers be able to stop the war, with a bold step in the fight direction?
And you
can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in
your lies
When everything seems like the movies
Yeah you
bleed just to know your alive
It was inevitable really, that the night should come to this. Sooner or later, they would have another confrontation, the mudblood and the pureblood. Their first meeting had been won by him. This time, they were on equal ground, a truce. But the next time they met, would he find power and once again win over her? Would she seek to set the scores and destroy him? Or would she act with bravery and seek forgiveness rather than revenge, would they come together?
And
I don't want the world to see me
Cause I don't think that they'd
understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want
you to know who I am
And as Ginny pulled her away from the Death Eaters and pointed out Harry running toward them, Hermione vowed never to repeat to anyone what she felt as she caught Draco Malfoy's eye. Draco, on the other hand, vowed to strive to find her. To find his saviour.
