Disclaimer: Sorry folks, but J.K.R. owns Harry Potter, not me.
Lily Potter sat at a window looking out at the snow.
So untouched, so innocent, so beautiful.
The snow reminded Lily of her childhood, before Hogwarts. Her and Petunia would play out in the fresh snow all day, building snowmen, making angels, and sledding. Then when they were soaked, shivering and red their mother would call for them to come in. They would run in tracking snow onto the freshly cleaned carpet, but their mother didn't seem to mind she would just laugh and hand them each a hot cocoa and a sugar cookie.
The snow reminded Lily of Hogwarts. Mornings she would wake up and notice the sky pale with clouds, she would rush to the window and see snow covering the endless grounds. She and her friends would go outside to skate and have snow ball fights with the Marauders.
But most of all the snow reminded Lily of her first kiss. It was in her seventh year, she had finally given in to James Potter, although they had been dating for almost two weeks now, they had decided to take it slow. They walked through the grounds with their hands laced, enjoying the peace that came with staying at school on a Hogsmede weekend. James turned to Lily and kissed her on the lips, there in the middle of the grounds, on a Saturday morning-it was perfect.
Lily sighed in content staring out at the snow where James was playing with Harry. She hoped that she would have many more snowy mornings with James and Harry, that she could be the mom that shook her head and laughed when James and Harry ran inside covered in snow after Harry's first snowball fight, before giving them hot cocoa and cookies. That there were more secret kisses in the snow, and that she could always be there to watch the snow fall.
