Obi-Wan couldn't shake the feeling that someone was following him. It was a feeling he had all day. He made his way down the hall and to the door of his quarters; he opened the door and stepped inside to find a hooded figure sitting on the edge of his bed. Immediately he ignited his lightsaber and went into battle stance.
"Please don't be alarmed" the figure said.
The figure stood up and began walking towards Obi-Wan, his grip on the lightsaber tightened,
"Who are you?" he asked.
"My name is Mirra Sarabi…and I have a request to make of you Obi-Wan." The figured said quietly.
Obi-Wan raised an eyebrow and held the sapphire blade of his lightsaber infront of the figure to keep them from coming any closer. He flinched as the hooded persons hands came up to push their hood back. Obi-Wan found himself staring into the glowing green eyes of a young girl about Anakin's age with red gold streaked hair. She extended her hand which was holding a small folded piece of paper towards him. He disengaged his lightsaber.
"Please read this, it's from my mother."
Slowly he unfolded it and began reading. Suddenly Anakin busted into the room.
"Master I'm sense a huge disturbance in the Force somewhere around….here…." he slowed his speech when he saw the girl, "Who are you?"
"My name is Mirra…and I'm probably the disturbance you sense." She said calmly.
"Well I'm Anakin…and I'm pleased to meet you I guess…" Anakin scratched his head in confusion.
Obi-Wan was in complete shock of what he was reading. When he finished reading he folded the paper back up.
"How did your mother know Qui-Gon?" He asked very interested.
"They were old friends" The girl said sitting down next to him.
Anakin just stood there looking at them completely lost.
"What's going on? Why are you here?" he wanted to know what was happening,
"I've been following you two in order to give Obi-Wan that note and to be taken in as his padawan."
"I cannot take you as a padawan." He said very simply.
Mirra wasn't just going to take that, she had worked too hard to get to him for him just to say no like that. Master Jinn had always expressed great interest in her, why didn't Obi-Wan share that interest…unless Qui-Gon had never mentioned her or her mother.
"Qui-Gon never mentioned my mother and I did he?" she said
"Not a word." Obi-Wan said.
Mirra then reached into the pouch on her belt and pulled out another folded piece of paper.
"Here…this one was from Qui-Gon." She said placing it in his hand.
Obi-Wan hesitated for a moment before unfolding the note. His eyes widened as he read the note. The room was silent for what seemed like an eternity as Obi-Wan read over the note again and again absorbing every detail of it. Finally, he folded it back up and broke the silence.
"He promised to train you sometime ago.." Obi-Wan said.
"Yes.." she nodded, " You were still his padawan then."
He winced at the word 'padawan' and a flood of memories of Qui-gon came back to him.
"Master…would you like sometime to meditate on this?" Anakin said noticing Obi-Wan's change in facial expression.
The older man nodded, he was completely overwhelmed by the whole thing.
"Come on I'll show you around." Anakin said grabbing the girls hand an leading her out of the room.
