"Gordy!"

It was a bright sunny day outside and the Scoobies were once again, locked in the library researching a Kilakitack demon. Xander's exclamation seemed to come out of nowhere.

"What are you talking about, Xander?" Cordelia asked her ex-boyfriend with a glare.

Xander blushed realized that not only had he said that out loud, but now he had Buffy, Willow, Oz, Giles and Cordelia's attention.

"Umm, well it has to do with my cousin."

Giles sighed.

"So, instead of researching you are thinking of your cousin Gordy?"

"Yes, no, kinda," Xander stuttered.

"I didn't know you had a cousin Gordy," Willow said.

"I don't."

"Huh?" Buffy said what the others were thinking.

"No, it's about my cousin Kevin."

He was again met with confused stares.

"Okay, here's the deal. My cousin Kevin gets his name from combining the names of his parents, Kelly and Devin," Xander said, like that was all the explanation needed. Quizzical stares again surfaced.

"I think you might have to fill in some more blanks there, Xan," Buffy said.

"Fine. I was just thinking of combining two of our names or nicknames to get a name that actually exists. Thus, I came up with Gordy."

The group sat and thought for a moment, then a light bulb went off in Willow's head.

"Oh, I get it! Giles and Cordy."

Xander nodded smugly.

"What?" both Giles and Cordelia yelled at the same time.

"Gordy? You have got to be kidding me. No Chase would ever have that name. Plus, me and Giles? Where do you get this stuff, Xander?" Cordelia ridiculed.

"Well, excuse me if some of us haven't turned that magical age of mature 18 yet, oh great mature one."

Buffy and Willow started laughing.

"Wow, I think it's time to call this research session over, before Xander loses ALL his marbles," Buffy said.

"I quite agree. You may go. Cordelia, it is your turn to help clean up."

"Oh yay," Cordelia said sarcastically, but made to start cleaning up while Buffy, Willow, Xander and Oz left the library. As soon as the others were a good distance from the library, Cordelia sauntered into Giles's office.

"Gordy, huh?"

"Yes, apparently so," Giles answered.

"Giles," Cordelia said as she moved closer to the librarian, "promise me if we have kids, you will never bring that name up."

Giles turned to look at Cordelia, who was now standing right in front of him.

"I promise," he said, and then pulled her into a searing kiss.

"Good," she said when the finally ended the kiss, "because otherwise I would have serious issues with marrying you after graduation."
