The light of the fire danced across Ron's face as he sat on the couch. He just sat there, thinking, contemplating; about something, everything, nothing. It surprised him how often he did this now; still he continued to gaze continually into those flames.

In the silence, all I hear is the burning of the candles. And in the darkness, all I see is the shadow of the shadows. And yet, it feels so bright. And time stands still. Today becomes tomorrow, as morning breaks the night; and turns a wold of heartfelt sorrow into joy and darkness into light.

Kim was sitting by his side, running her fingers through his untidy hair. She then got to her feet.

"I'm going to get some hot chocolate, Ron." She said. "You want some?"

"Huh," He stuttered as he was snapped back to reality. "Oh, sure Kim. That'd be great." He turned to watch her leave. Boy, was he lucky to have someone like her; Kim Possible, beautiful, smart, athletic, all the things he wasn't. It made him wonder just what it was she saw in him. He unconsciously touched his left hand.

Ron Stoppable had always been a loser, a dweeb, the bottom of the food chain. Why would anyone, let alone someone as nearly perfect as Kim, want a nothing like him? Kim could have someone better, deserved someone better! How could she have settled for this? Questions and pain poured down onto him as he gazed into the eternity of the flames.

"Ron," Kim had returned. "Ron are you okay?"

As you're kneeling by my side, and you lift your heart to Heaven

"Wha- Oh, yeah Kim," Ron gazed at her as his sheepish grin appeared. "I was just, y'know, thinking." Kim giggled.

"Ron, you're such a dork."

"Yeah, I know." He started to turn back to the fire, but Kim held his face in front of her own.

"And that's why I love you so much."

"Really?" Ron asked.

And then it feels so bright

"Really!" Kim answered.

And time stands still

Kim and Ron kissed. And in that kiss, all of Ron's doubts and troubles melted away into the sweet bliss of Kim's love.
