My Dear Molly:
You have no doubt heard on WWN of the Death Eater attack on the Ministry of Magic this morning. It is my sad duty to inform you that both your husband, Arthur, and your son, Percy, perished in that attack.
We here at the Ministry are of course aware that there was considerable animosity between your husband and your son. I think, therefore, that you may find some small comfort in knowing how they died. This is the scene, as it wasreconstructed by the aurors in the Department of Crime Scene Investigation.
Arthur and Percy were both in the same hallway when the attack took place. The CSI's believe that this was pure coincidence, and no meeting was planned. They were attacked by teams of Death Eaters from both ends of the hallway, simultaneously. They stood back-to-back to fight off the attacks, each defending the other, until they were overcome by weight of numbers. The CSI's tell me that there were "piles" of dead Death Eaters at their feet when they went down.
