Summary- In Gemma and Kartik's relationship, nothing makes sense. (Poetry)
A/N: The title of this collection is Unclear. It is two poems, one talking about Gemma and Kartik in A Great and Terrible Beauty and another about them in Rebel Angels. This is the first.
I Cannot Understand
You frightened me, I was afraid,
You followed me; I am intrigued.
You threaten me; I do not sway,
You're warning me, I'm not afraid.
You come to me; you do not stay,
I instigate; you push away.
You risk for me; I try to see,
But I cannot understand you.
We do not speak of certain things,
The kiss (was a necessity, I said) we wished was something more,
How you looked at beauty and it was not me,
How when you saw her, I was invisible.
I cannot understand you.
