"Hey, boss. Sorry, he...had too much to drink."
Tseng stared at the scene in front of him. The morning sun caught on his second's hair as well as the gold under his chin to reflect the image over the water the Shinra vacation home was beside.
He made no secret that he loved the way the dawn played off of Reno's hair; the way bright red turned into fire when the first light touched it. Watching the colors mix like they did in the skylike fire surrounding that lightwarmed him almost as much as the sun itself.
Rufus shifted slightly, ice blue eyes opening to look at Tseng. "Good morning, Mr. Vice-President."
The blond stared at Tseng a moment, his mind obviously still asleep, before he seemed to realize whom he was using as a pillow.
And then the colors separated, like the light in the sky would in another few moments.
It was, of course, all about appearances.
