Foreword

This book has been produced in the times of darkness. If the Dark Lord or his helpers were to find this book, I, its author would have paid with my life.

I believe the risk was worth taking. The dark Lord is causing fear all over and there is no one to stop him. No one knows who his supporters are, no one knows who's working for him and who isn't; everyone knows he can control people so that they do terrible things without being able to stop themselves and every week there are more deaths, more disappearances and more torturing. There's terror everywhere, the ministry of magic are in disarray. The ministry is trying to keep everything from the muggles, but meanwhile muggles are dieing too. Terror. . . panic. . .confusion that's how the world is. I, the author have dedicated my life to find everything about the dark lord and that's how this book, The Rise and Fall of the Dark Lord was written. I believe that if we uncover everything about the dark lords past then and only then may we have a chance to destroy the dark lord. Ever since the dark lord's supporters, the death eaters murdered my parents I knew they were going for me all. So to keep me safe and to find more information about the dark lord I decided to join the vicious death eaters. I was taught Occlumency by my all powerful brother Albus Dumbledore, he taught me Occlumency in return for every little piece of information I gained. I may have had to do terrible things but this was a lot more important because this might just lead to the end of the dark lord. I hope, the dark lord believes I perished in the fire I lit at the sight of my parent's deaths. The note I left, stating that I wanted to die with my parents was, I hope, convincing. The bones found in the wreckage would have helped.

How stupid I was thinking that being with the death eaters would have helped. The dark lord didn't tell us, death eaters anything. So I decided to flee. I probably was the only human to have fled from the dark lord and live. I now decide to trail the dark lord.
