Snow was falling gently down, covering the ground in the beautiful layer of white, night sky has fallen and the stars where shining brightly.
The Orc which lay before him breathed hard, as blood seeped from her chest, she looked at the victorious human, a glint of sympathy and respect could be seen in his eyes.
Their eyes locked for what seemed hours, before she broke the contact with a cough.
"I am mortally wounded; there is nothing I can do to stop it…" She coughed up a little stream of blood.
"We Orcs… We understand, that you fear us…we understand... that you hate us..." She sucked in the cold air, savouring it, before exhaling it again letting it out as a small cloud of steam..
"We where always the hunters…until... we were defeated…Then we were hunted like cattle… Driven from any place…I could have called home..." She closed her eyes as pain swept in over her
"I used...to…" she coughs a bit before she continues "I used to stare at the rising sun…and pray…to make it through the day…" She lets a small tear roll down her cheek and onto the white snow…which slowly seemed to cover her fallen body.
"Each day I would wake up… and find more of my friends and families… dead beside me…
Cannon fire, fighting, screams…those were my lullabies…" She looked at her axe, which was lying just out of her reach
"Please… my axe…will you give it to me…?" The human nodded silently, and slowly picked up the axe, before placing them securely in her arms
"Now…I am prepared… please Champion…set me free."
The human only nodded and placed the tip of his sword at her chest, closing his eyes for a second, saying a quiet prayer. She nods at him she tightens her hold around her axe, closing her eyes before the unstoppable sword get plunged through her.
Memories flashed before her before her world went white…
He looked down at her lifeless body, kneeling down honouring her, before he took his sword and sheathed it, before he turned around and walked away, with heavy foot-steps.
Her body was slowly being consumed by the, snow… never would her spirit return for she had been indeed been freed…
