There are only so many "sits" a guy can take. I have had it up to here with you, Kagome. No, don't you dare move. Not this time. I will be the one to walk away from you.

Earlier that day

"Hi, Inuyasha." Shit. Had I really fallen asleep? I had waited all night at the Bone Eater's Well, in case she had decided to come back early. We hadn't left on the best terms when she announced she would be staying in her era for the next three days. Meeting her at the well is usually the only way I can talk to her with any kind of privacy.

"Kagome. You're back." She nodded. Was she going to say anything about the other day?

"Well, we should probably head back to Kaede's village, now. I brought some sweets back for Shippo. He's sure going to love them." Nope. She was going to pretend like nothing happened. Once again it was up to me to patch shit up.

"Hold on, Kagome," I started. "About the other day-"

"Just forget it, ok?"

"Yeah, like you have," I said sarcastically. Damn you, Kagome. Why do you have to make a big deal out of everything?

"You're always running off with her. She snaps her fingers and you come running." Here we go.

"You know it's not like that, Kagome. I have an obligation to her. I already failed her once, I'm not going to let her down again." Like I don't have enough guilt over hurting Kikyo, now I feel bad about hurting Kagome every time I try to help Kikyo.

"Kagome?" I looked at her. She had her eyes to the ground and hadn't made a sound. Uh-oh. That can only mean one thing. And the crying began. Godammit! I hate when she cries. I hate even more when she cries because of me. I was forced to swallow my pride.

"Please don't cry," I pleaded with her. "There's nothing to cry about. You're the one I want to be with, ok? I really hate when you're gone. Just be happy, ok?" She hiccupped, her sobs beginning to die down.

"Did-did you kiss her again?" Her lower lip quivered.

"Hell no. That happened once and I put a stop to it. Kikyo was a part of my past, so I have to do all I can until she can rest in peace. But, Kagome, you're my present, alright? I can talk to you, be myself with you. That matters so much to me. You know that, right?" Here I was, once again putting my ego on the line for this girl, but it was all worth it when she finally smiled.

"Thanks, Inuyasha," she said softly, and reached for my hand. Thank the gods, she's happy again. "I care for you, too." My ego was now flying high and against my better judgment, I acted bolder than I should have. Instead of settling for hand-holding, I pulled her in, laying down (in my opinion) one hell of a kiss. And she liked it! She even let my tongue into her mouth-goddamn! I felt damn cocky at this point; but hey, when a beautiful girl is kissing you like that, it's justified. So, being a half-demon caught up in the moment, I grabbed her breast with my other hand, rubbing her nipple between my fingers. Oh, gods, she was sexy! Unfortunately, my fun was interrupted with a resounding

"SIT!" A face full of dirt.

"Dammit, Kago-"

"SIT!" And another. It's not like I was trying to piss her off. I can't help it if I'm turned on by her. I watched her stomp away while I managed to pick myself up off the ground. We walked back to the village, neither of us saying a word. I didn't feel like getting "sat" for a third time, so I certainly didn't feel like making conversation.

We had only reached the perimeter of Kaede's village when we were met by Miroku and Shippo.

"Inuyasha! Kagome! A demon is attacking the village! Sango and Kouga are trying to fend it off, but-"

"Keh. Say no more." In a second I had traced the scent of the mangy wolf and bolted towards it. Stupid wolf, always taking on more than he can handle. Sure enough, Kouga was in trouble, at the mercy of some demon's giant claw, while a slightly injured Sango continued to fight.

"Sango! I'll take it from here! Go back to Kagome and the others." Out of breath, the slayer nodded and hopped on her companion, Kirara.

"Hey, you," I yelled to the demon. "Leave that twerp alone!" Kouga looked like he was injured pretty bad, but it didn't keep him from giving me lip.

"I don't need your help, dog-breath," he choked out.

"Like hell you don't," I said, pulling out the Tessaiga. "Lets get this over with, creep! IRON REAVER SOUL STEALER!" I sliced the sonnofabitch to smithereens, managing to avoid Kouga. It wasn't long before the others caught up to us.

"Kouga! Are you okay?" Kagome asked, running to his side.

"That stupid wolf almost got himself killed back there," I informed her.

"Inuyasha! Behave yourself!" she said, shooting me daggers with her eyes. Kouga sat up and took hold of Kagome's hands-the jerk's got some damn nerve!

"Kagome," the jerk began, milking her attention for as much as he could. "Thank you for your kindness. What would I do without you?"

"Hey, it's me you should be thanking, you ingrate! And get your grubby hands off her, while you're at it!" I can't believe the crap she puts up with from this guy, it's positively sickening.

"Shut it, dog-meat," he snarled and then he put his arm around her! And what did she do? Nothing! I clenched my fists, rage beginning to boil.

"Kouga, why don't I make you some ramen?" Ramen! That's my favorite! I couldn't help growling. Kagome shot me an icy glare. "Don't even think about it, Inuyasha! Kouga's the one who's hurt!" Maybe physically, but I was hurt too, because of her. My pride and my heart.

"Kagome-darling, that sounds wonderful." He squeezed her and directed a satisfied smirk towards me.

"Kagome! Can't you see how he's manipulating you! He wouldn't be hurt if he didn't screw up back there!"

"SIT! SIT! SIT! SIT! SIT! SIT! SIT!" Damn you, Kagome. I slowly rose to my feet. Everyone was taken aback when they saw the blood trickling out of my nose.

"Listen up, Kagome Higurashi," I started quietly, but firmly. "I have saved you countless times-hell, I even save this asshole for the sole reason that you have some sort of attachment to him, I put up with your distrust on an everyday basis, when I have told you time and time again that there is no reason for it! You know I care about you! You know I would die for you! You let this filthy wolf put his paws all over you and you just sit there with a stupid smile on your face! I touch you and I get "sat" the fuck into the ground! So do whatever the fuck you want, Kagome! But don't you move, don't you dare move, because it's my turn to walk out on you! I can't stand to be near you right now, so just leave me the fuck alone!"

And with that, I wiped the blood from my face, and left.
