Goodbye Dear Rin.
Summary: The day that Lord Sesshomaru had feared has come, the day he would loose Rin forever.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Inuyasha characters. Not even Lord Sesshomaru, Sigh.
A/N: This is not a death fic. Nobody dies in this story. This is just a bittersweet story so read and review and no flames. By the way I think Rin is sooooo cute. Aww!
Sesshomaru gasped as he tried to catch his breath. He was in pain and it bothered him. He never felt pain like this before, but then he never had been in this kind of situation before. He remembered everything that happened a few years back. Rin, who was now 20 years old, came to him telling him that they would part. It was a shock to him, but he didn't let Rin on that it bothered him. He just took his hand and wiped the tears away from her face. Then he raised her face to look into his eyes.
"Rin, don't cry. Remember that whatever happens you'll always have my heart." Now as he watched her slowly walk away he wondered if those words were true. Somebody else will now look over her, protect her, care for her if she was ill. Someone else will take his place, but he hoped that he would not take his place in her heart. But she looks so happy, so happy, happier than he had seen her in a long while. And the man that was standing beside her, so strong and handsome, he looked like he would do anything for her to make her happy, even lay down his life for her. Just like I would, he thought. But no, he can't change anything now, and he wouldn't. Yes, it was hard to let go, he wouldn't deny that, but he realized that she better off in where she was going and she would have everything her young heart desired.
Oh she looked so beautiful, so young, and so vibrant in that white dress, she looked like a princess. Yes, she was his princess, a princess of his heart. But soon princesses have to leave the kingdom and their fathers and start a family of their own.
"Imagine," he thought to himself, "Rin having children of her own." She would be a good mother, no doubt about that, and he was sure that the man standing next to her would be a good father. Oh but it seemed like only yesterday when Rin was just a child herself. He remembered those sweet, carefree days when she would put her arms around him and tell him that she loved him. Those nights when he would comfort her when she had a nightmare or when she was ill. Now she was a full grown adult, not a child anymore. He watched as Rin and the man exchanged rings. A symbol of their love, of a bond that would not break: a symbol that tore at Sesshomaru's heart. It will soon be over, and he would lose Rin forever. He watched as tears filled Rin's eyes. How he longed to wipe them away for her, to tell her that everything was going to be all right. But he couldn't, and that hurt him the most. Suddenly he felt a drop of moisture fall down his cheek. He wiped it away. But no sooner had he wiped it away, another drop fell down his cheek. What is wrong with me, he thought, I never felt like this before? Rin and her now wedded husband turned to each other and kissed. Sesshomaru gasped, as a feeling he had never felt before washed over him. More salty droplets fell down his cheeks and he suddenly realized what was happening. For the first time in his life, he was crying. But his tears were a mixture of happiness and sadness. He was happy for Rin; this was the day that she longed for. But he was also sad, sad that Rin was leaving him and that he had to let her go.
"Goodbye dear Rin." He whispered, tears running down his face. And right then he knew he wouldn't trade this moment, not for a thousand years.
The End.
Awww! See, even Lord Sesshomaru can cry at weddings.
