Title: House of Cards
Day/Theme: 26th September/"Loneliness and desire"
Series: Vampire Game
Character/Pairing: Falan, implied Vord/Falan and Illsaide/Falan
Rating: PG

Falan cares deeply for Vord. So much so, in fact, that she never tells him this, because there's really nothing crueller she can say to him. It's funny that someone like Vord – brave, handsome, a heck of a flirt but completely devoted once you had him – could have not one, but two relationships like that.

As long as she doesn't tell him how much (little) she cares, they can stay like this, the three of them, stuck in an eternal triangle. It's not right that they should be like that, but it's life. Life in Ci Xeneth, anyway, where nothing ever goes right for anyone. Vord should go home, though life in La Naan doesn't sound like much of a picnic either. It's a painful kind of irony that Zi Alda is the richest and most peaceful part of St Pheliosta. It makes Falan laugh in the sad way that she always uses about the House of Phelios.

Maybe soon the strange house of cards they've built will come crashing down. But it hasn't today and that's good enough – until tomorrow.
