Title: Loveless?

Author: Fuji S. Yuki

"What is love?" A soft inhalation of air came with shifting of the leather couch that one lost little boy lay upon. "I'm not even sure if I know its true meaning. I know there are many forms of love that they exist out there but I can never seem to be able to tell if I have experienced it."

"Do you want to experience it Ritsuka?" Gentle probing from a female voice broke into the room lingering and caressing like the wind.

While the black ear boy remains on his back staring at the ceiling in thought to the question, "I'm not sure." Silence follows for a couple of minutes while shuffling of paper is heard and then a tap of a pen signals writing. "I suppose I desire it and yet I fear it."

"Why is that?"

A frown wrinkled the boy's forehead, "because I'm loveless."

"Are you really loveless?"

The same question that came upon Seimei's computer made the dark eye boy frown, "In a way I am."

"How so?"

"We all are loveless in our own way." Twitching of cat like ears annoyance impatience's with the line of questioning. "We end up loving someone and then they leave us. In the end that love that we have flies away making us loveless."

"Are you scared of love?"

"Yes, I probably am, because I can't remember if I've ever been love. Even though Seimei protected me, that sort of love goes away leaving me tangle, and alone forever."

"What about your friends?"

"What about them?" Eyes flicker to the woman's back side in faint annoyance.

"They love you don't they?"

Silence follows for a period of time as eyes stared at the back side of the therapist, "Sometimes I believe that I don't deserve their concerns or rather their love."

"You can't always run away from them."

"I know." Lips twitches up, "They won't leave me alone."

"So then you're not truly loveless. Therefore that word has no power over you."

"But it is still a name."

"Yes one that doesn't apply to you."

"But does that mean I am not loveless?"

"No that means you're only human."

A beep was heard signaling the end of the session, "A name is only a name Ritsuka, it hold no meaning unless you let it."

"Aa." Silence follows as Ritsuka got up.

"I'll drive you."

"Alright."
