The Most Beautiful Girl in the World
--Begin Flashback—
"You killed Hermione!" he yelled furiously. "I'll kill you!"
He pulled off his glasses and destroyed them. They were the last Horcrux. It looked like a rotating ghost, flying towards Voldemorts heart. It flew into the place where his heart should be.
"Give it up, Potter!" he yelled.
"AVADA
KEDARVA!" he shouted at the same time as releasing the love in the
room of the Department of Mysteries, and Voldemort turned to vapor,
to nothing.
--End Flashback—
Why? Why did she have to go so young? She made him hate Voldemort even more, if that was possible. Voldemort thought killing Hermione would make Harry too sad to kill him, but it didn't. Instead it made him mad enough to make the right amount of power to conjure a Killing Curse.
Hermione Jane Granger was her name. Hermione Jane, the most beautiful girl in the world. Even though she had bushy hair and buck teeth, he quickly learned to look over those. He had loved her from the moment they defeated the troll. He remembered how she broke up with Ron at the end of 6th year and she confessed her love for him. Ron was heartbroken, but she still loved him.
They were to get married the month after. He remembered how her engagement ring had gone flying when Voldemort said Avada Kedarva. Ron had finally given his consent. He remembered how Hermione had scoffed and said:
"Your consent? For heavens sakes Ron, I'm not 10 years old. You DON'T have to protect me. I am a big girl and I'm perfectly fine making my own decisions."
Ron didn't speak to her for a week. For some reason, Harry smiled when he saw Ron's face.
He remembered the row they had when he found out it was because of him that he and Hermione were breaking up. He got back with Lavender and started calling her Lav-Lav. It was sickening. Harry knew deep down that he deserved it though. He could have said no to Hermione because Ron was his best friend, but he insisted on her.
God, he loved her. He loved the way she laughed. He loved the way she cried when she got a failing grade because Ron had messed up her essay. He loved just hugging her.
Her funeral was today. It was the first time he had really talked to Mr. and Mrs. Granger. They were going to give their consent to marry their daughter because he had proved he could take care of her. Then they were told. They didn't blame him though. The funeral was a sad affair. He was asked to say a few words and he did. They were mostly about her achievements, but he broke off at the end. Her gravestone inscription said:
