A Walk in Tomoeda

She went for a walk with me,
My best friend, whom I've always loved.
We went past the little bridge,
and past the children chasing each other--,
little boys and girls holding hands.
I looked at her,
and a smile lit over my face.
She was skipping happily along,
a bright balloon in one hand,
paper shopping bags in another.
We walk through the park.
Stop for ice cream,
Listen to a performing violinist.
It is such a wonderful, wonderful day,
walking in Tomoeda with my best friend.
"Tomoyo-chan, 見て (Look)!"
I look, and I see the sweetest teddy bear
looking back from the window at me.
She laughs and laughs cheerfully, saying,
"Tomoyo-chan! かわいい (Kawaii)!"
I can't help but to tell her she is kawaii too.
