Disclaimer: I do not own anything, in the story that is. Not Disney's "Kim Possible, or Martina's "How Far"
A/N: I came up with this very late at night, so bear with me.
Outdoor Middleton Theatre
There's a boat, I could sail away
There's the sky, I could catch a plane
There's a train, there's the tracks
I could leave and I could choose to not come back
"Man that voice sounds familiar," 27-year old Ronald Stoppable said out loud.
"Yeah," a husky voice from behind Ron said. "That's Kim Possible."
"No way," Ron said.
"Yeah, seems only yesterday her and I went out for a few weeks during junior year of high school."
"Josh Mankey," Ron said to the stranger, "Ron Stoppable."
"Good to see you again Stoppable."
"Likewise," Ron replied.
There you are, giving up the fight
Here I am begging you to try
Talk to me, let me in
But you just put your wall back up again
Oh, when's it gonna end
'Wow,' Ron thought, 'she sure has changed a lot since graduation'
How far do I have to go to make you understand
I wanna make this work so much it hurts, but I just can't
Keep on giving, go on living with the way things are
So I'm gonna walk away
And it's up to you to say how far
"She had any relationships since me," Ron asked.
"Since you, yes. Anywhere near how close you two were, not even close buddy."
"I never knew she could sing like this. Did you?"
"No, I sure didn't."
There's a chance I could change my mind
But I won't, not till you decide
What you want, what you need
Do you even care if I stay or leave
Oh, what's it gonna be
As Ron and Josh watched, Kim began to put, if possible, even more emotion into her song, wrenching Ron's heart because he felt such pride and happiness, but if nothing else; such love from the woman on the stage, singing her heart out to another guy in the world.
How far do I have to go to make you understand
I wanna make this work so much it hurts, but I just can't
Keep on giving, go on living with the way things are
So I'm gonna walk away
And it's up to you to say how far
Out of this chair, or just across the room
Halfway down the block or halfway to the moon
To Ron's and Josh's surprise, Kim took a step out forward, and said, "Ron, you probably can't hear me but I love you, and I'm asking you—
How far do I have to go to make you understand
I wanna make this work so much it hurts, but I just can't
Keep on giving, go on living with the way things are
So I'm gonna walk away
And it's up to you to say
Yeah I'm gonna walk away
And it's up to you to say how far
How far
Ooohhhh
As she was finishing her song, Ron walked up, waited until she was finished, and said, "Kim I love you, too. I've loved you ever since I met you on the playground in pre-K, and I won't ever stop loving—" Ron never got to finish his sentence, as Kim placed her lips on his and kissed him.
When they finally parted, Ron pulled a box out of his pocket he had been saving for around five years, and said to Kim, as he got down to one knee, "Kimberly Ann Possible, I love you with all of my heart, and I want to know, will you marry me?"
A single tear fell down Kim's cheek, as Ron held his breath, "I'd love to marry you, Ron."
After hearing those words, Ron stood up and slid the ring on her finger, and they walked off the stage hand in hand, lost in love and happiness.
The End
