Conan looked around the crime scene. The murderer had been uncovered and was now being escorted down to the station to be officially interrogated.
However…something did not feel right. Something was off. Something from the time when they found the body. But what was it? Conan gripped his head in frustration. What was different? It did not seem like a big thing but it was something that was always there-no, something that always happened when they discovered a body.
But what was it? Conan began to pace the room, an intense look of concentration on his face. It was right there, just in the back of his mind, one of those things you should know but cannot quite recall. He began to grind his teeth.
"Conan-kun? Are you all right?" ask a familiar voice behind him. "It sounds like you are grinding your teeth."
He gave her his innocent smile, "It's nothing, Ran-neechan." As soon as he spoke those words, what he was trying to figure out hit him like a ton of bricks.
Ran had not screamed when they discovered the body! What minor difference in the usual course of things but it still managed to throw his deduction process for a loop. Who would have guessed the not having someone scream would throw him off?
