I would also like to say that a mistake that many people, including myself, have made, is that Lily and the Marauders were taught by Professor McGonagall. They were not, in the 5th book, when McGonagall is being inspected, she says that she had been teaching Hogwarts for almost 16 years, now, Harry was 15 at the time, and unless Lily had Harry straight out of Hogwarts, which I doubt, then she wouldn't have been taught by McGonagall.

NOW ON WITH THE STORY!

Lily Evans sat in the common room, finishing off an essay for Slughorn. She had just written the last sentence when someone stood in front of her. She looked up to see Josh Timor.

"Can I help you?" Lily asked Josh

"Um, I was wondering if you wanted to go to Hogsmeade with me?" Josh asked nervously, knowing that this would piss Potter off, but he was doing it for a bet.

"Sure, I'd love to." Lily answered with a smile.

"I guess I'll see you around then." Josh said turning around.

"I guess so." Lily watched as Josh walked away. She felt extremely happy, this was how she was going to get Potter to notice her again. He had recently stopped asking her out every second day, and Lily was starting to like him. Like, like him. She saw James coming towards her.

"Lily, can I ask you a question?"

"Sure."

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT, I ASK FOR MONTHS AND MONTHS AND YOU WON'T GO OUT WITH ME, HE ASK'S YOU ONCE, FOR A BET, AND YOU SAY YES!"

"MAYBE IF YOU WEREN'T SO PIG-HEADED-"

"ME? PIG-HEADED?"

"YES YOU, JAMES POTTER, YOU'RE A PIG-HEADED, CONCEITED, IDIODIC, LAZY… DAMN IT!" Lily said to no-one in particular before grabbing the back of James' neck, and kissing him full on the lips. The common room was silent. "Damn you James Potter." Lily whispered before James kissed her again.
