Tears from a Broken Heart

Letters from the Unknown

The room was dimly lit, all the light shone from the room was powered by a dwindling candle that stood on a desk in the far corner of the room. The fireplace had long since been used, and all the furniture in the room had at least an inch layer of dust on them. Cobwebs were draped skillfully around the room, the door, which stood idly by the cluttered desk, was rotting with the faded red paint chipping off of it slowly. A single window which stood just opposite of the desk was clouded over, no tapestries were hung, and there were far less than no trace of any sort of life that had ever lived in this room what so ever.

Footsteps were heard just outside the door, then the knob turned and the door opened rather stubbornly. There in the doorways stood a woman, she walked in slowly stopping there in the middle of the room turning her head around in all directions. She ended her thoughts with a single look at the desk, she walked over to it and ran her hand over the chair lightly. She pulled an envelope from her cloak and set it down in the middle of the cluttered desk. Silently she wiped a tear away from her face and turned to the door. Pulling it open she walked out, the only words that were spoken upon her exit were so silent, even Silence itself would never match the sound of it.

"Come back to me...Sirius Black. Please come back to me."

Her footsteps faded away after the door had closed. Once she had gone the fire sprang to life and crackled merrily filling the room with warmth. The window cleared and opened letting a small breeze of fall air tickle in, peeling the dust away off of everything in the room. The only thing that seemed gloomy in this particular scene was the letter that stood untouched on the desk in the far corner of the room.
