AN: I apologize for not updating "Play With Fire" but I really am trying to break my writer's block and update that soon. Anyway, this is a oneshot and it doesn't correspond to the aforementioned multi-chapter story that I also wrote.
I hope you guys like this...don't forget to REVIEW:D
Time Has Come
Aaron smiled as he saw Logan. "Son!"
Logan slowly swiveled the chair over to face him, but didn't make a move. Aaron's face fell. His son started laughing at his father's reaction. "What did you expect dad? A hug?"
"At least show me some respect," Aaron demanded. Logan slammed the bottle he had been holding onto the table so hard that it cracked. Then he picked up the gun.
"Logan, put that down. We can work this out," Aaron said, slightly nervous.
His son ignored him. "You know, I almost believed you. A father couldn't be that cruel to his own flesh and blood, now could he? But then I watched you screw my girlfriend."
"I can explain."
"I don't want to hear it. It's too late for that," he replied, getting up and pacing.
"But not for you. Pull that trigger and your life is over. I don't want that."
"Oh, so now you care?" Logan scoffed. It didn't matter; he had nothing left to lose. Aaron started to answer, but he shut up under the significant glare that was thrown his way.
"Logan..." he began again, cautiously inching forward, arms raised in platitude. Logan raised the weapon in warning. Dropping the pleasant facade, an incensed Aaron Echolls charged at him.
The loud crack of the gun discharging cut through the night. Slowly, the man crumpled to the floor.
"Oops," Logan whispered in surprise as he watched his father transform from a formidable enemy into a broken figure. The monster that had tormented him his entire life breathed out one last time and was gone. Logan stared. Maybe he was in shock, but rather than grief Logan felt a sense of overwhelming relief.
He should've done that a long time ago.
