AN: This piece was originally just a one-shot, but I decided to write one more installment of this, with my favorite girl detective involved, since I love her so much. I hope you enjoy, and please leave me feedback:D
Closer
"Oh, my god," Veronica whispered, eyes wide. "Logan? What happened?" He turned in her direction, face breaking out into an attempt at a smile.
"Ronnie."
"Is he...is Aaron dead?" She asked him cautiously, keeping one eye on the weapon still remaining in his grasp.
"I killed him," he realized suddenly. Then his face hardened. "I'm not sorry. I mean, he tried to take you away from me. He didn't deserve to live. But now I'm just like him."
"No, Logan, never," she protested. "You're nothing like him."
"Aren't I?" His gaze swept over his father's bloody body before coming to rest on the weapon. He slammed it down onto the table, glad to be rid of it. Then he directed his attention back to Veronica. With almost child-like innocence, he asked her, "Are you going to leave me too?"
"I would never do that to you," she answered, before reaching up and wiping away the stray tear that had slid down his face. He collapsed into her arms, sobbing, as the full knowledge of what he had been through hit him. Veronica Mars just held him closer.
It was all she could do.
