See previous ch. I realized it wasn't done.

The sun has been shining for days now, but she has yet to see it. She sighs and picks up another stack of forms, this is what her life consists of, now.

She hears the receptionist ask, "May I help you?" but she doesn't look up. Not until she sees a briefcase set down on her desk. Not until she hears a familiar voice say, "I think you left this behind."

When she lifts her head she meets a pair of eyes as blue as her own. Suddenly the sun that has been shining for days reaches her. She reaches out for his hand and finds herself wrapped in a hug. Then his partner joins the embrace. She tries to find her words, words that come so easily in a courtroom but here, in the arms of her friends, they are gone.

She smiles tears glistening in her eyes. She can't find her voice but she doesn't need to.

"Just breathe Alex," Elliot tells her. "Just breathe."
