Disclaimer: Reading excessive amounts of Detective Conan fan fiction may be harmful to your social li- Oh, you want that sort of disclaimer. Right when I was enjoying myself, too.
Be it Case Closed, Detective Conan, or Meitantei Conan, I do not own it. I don't own the characters, I don't own the names, I don't own any licenses, I don't own any company stock (though believe you me, as soon as I can, I will)…I don't even own any of the manga, though that's because I'm too cheap to buy them. I usually borrow the things or read my sister's.
But my precious bodily fluids are mine! You hear that? Mine! I won't let you take them, ya dirty commies! Mine! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!
Now to declare war on Russia…
Much ado about very little, with apologies to Shakespeare
Another day in the park with the Shonen Tantei. Another occasion for him to exercise his deductive prowess. Conan held his chin in his hand, deep in thought.
'She said something about the object being mostly yellow and black, and that it moved pretty fast. Given her age group and friends…but what about…no, it can't be that.'
Finally, it all fell into place. If you had really good (or really creative) hearing, there was a bright, metallic 'ding' sound off somewhere. It kinda got annoying sometimes. 'That's it! It has to be that thing!' Then, out loud, "I finally figured it out. Your mysterious object has to be…" He brought his small arm down in a forceful arc, ending in an accusatory finger.
"…That Kamen Yaiba billboard across the street!"
"Yep! You got it right on the first guess!" Ayumi said in wide-eyed wonder.
"Now it's my turn!" Genta yelled enthusiastically. "I spy…"
Yeah, short and stupid, you're thinking. But, if these are your sentiments, then please keep 'em to yourself. The 'if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all' sort of thing.
After Gosho Aoyama, I blame Candyland the most for this fic; I found some of her drabbles and read them, and inspiration popped out of the shadowy recesses of my brain to clobber me with an idea. The whole 'ding' thing is her fault, too. So if you haven't already read her stuff, I'd recommend it.
