A/N: Flames accepted. Obviously, I don't own 'No Bravery' ...James Blunt does. For those who know the song, I've changed one word...but I think it fits better. review please.

"My lady"
Eowyn snapped out of her thoughts as she saw a village ahead of her, not far from Edoras, this village had been devastated.
"My lady, is something wrong?" asked the soldier.
"No. 'tis nothing." Eowyn shook her head and kept riding silently.

There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
Tears drying on their face.
He has been here.
Brothers lie in shallow graves.
Fathers lost without a trace.
A nation blind to their disgrace,
Since he's been here.

People, women mostly came out to greet Eowyn and her company as the passed through the village. Their faces were hopeful but sad at the same time. Their loss was too much. Eowyn felt the heaviness of their grief as she passed each one.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.
And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

Brothers, fathers and families…lost. The memories of loved ones are vivid in the minds of these survivors. Among them are children, children who will never know their fathers and brothers. Mothers who have lost their sons…

Houses burnt beyond repair.
The smell of death is in the air.
A woman weeping in despair says,
He has been here.
The sun islighting up the sky.
It's another families' turn to die.
A child afraid to even cry out says,
He has been here.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.
And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness

Innocents who should never have had to see such death and destruction weep at the sight. Their lives, their future is gone. Everything they worked for is gone.

There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
But no one asks the question why,
He has been here.
Old men kneel to accept their fate.
Wives and daughters cut and raped.
A generation drenched in hate.
Yes, he has been here

Yes, indeed, he has been here, he who destroys anything in his path…no one escapes. Fearless, mighty, ruthless…hail…

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.
And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness…

A/N: 'he' can be taken as a personification of war or if you like 'he' can be Sauron. it's up to you
