Title: T'was the Night Before Morning
Category: Humor/Parody
Summary: T'was the night before morning, and all through Helm's Deep...
T'was the Night Before Morning
T'was the night before morning,
And all through Helm's Deep,
Not a creature was stirring,
All were asleep.
The weapons were hung by bedposts with care,
In hopes that Gandalf soon would be there.
The hobbits all nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of mushrooms danced in their heads.
And Legolas in his night clothes and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a short war-time nap.
When out on the battlefield everything grew silent,
And we sprang to our feet to see what had caused this quiet.
Away to the window I flew like a bird,
And there was Gandalf, that crazy little terd!
With the Riders of Rohan on his tail, he called us by name
"Now, Aragorn! Now, Legolas! Now, Merry and Pippin!
On, Theoden! On, Shadowflax! On Bill and Eomer!
To the top of the fortess! To the top of the way!
Now, fight the army! Fight them now! Come, now, fight the fray!"
And follow his voice was what we did extinctively,
So out to the landing, we fighters did fly,
With our weapons in hand and our hopes held high.
A strong fog of white lit up the era, leaving Orcs and Uruks to fall to their dooms.
And then away we bound, Gandalf in our midst
Calling, "That was a good fight, you all! To you all a good day!"
