Tonks was always a little odd. She couldn't help the fact that with the slightest emotion her whole appearance changed. It wasn't till she was much older did she get that skill under control.
Not only that but she was dreadfully clumsy. She couldn't help but fall over things. If there was any glass around her you could bet money on the fact that it would be broken by the time she left.
When she decided that she wanted to be an auror her mother laughed. Tonks didn't come off as a serious person. She didn't seem like she was keen on rules and regulations so why would she want to make sure other people were following them?
She was odd and she knew it. Nothing normal about her and that's the way she liked it.
Until…
When she first met him she didn't know his secret. She thought he was as normal as the changing seasons. He was steady. She was unbalanced in more then one way. He was focused. She was a scatterbrain. She was loud and sarcastic. He was quiet and witty. She was hip and he wasn't.
He was everything that she didn't want.
Except, he was so kind to her and everyone. He had the nicest smile. His eyes would light up and there was just a hint of age and wisdom in his face.
Maybe she needed a steady constant in her life.
It didn't matter much anyways. She found out that he was odd just like her. He had a secret that made him back away from her when she would move in closer. She loved him and he refused to be loved by her.
Every time he ignored her gaze her heart would brake into tiny pieces. Then on that terrible night when Hogwarts was attacked he finally understood.
And here they are. It's early summer and the day has just begun. Tonks is trying to help Fleur as best as she can. Ginny and Hermione are laughing as Tonks tries to help Molly in the kitchen. Ginny and Tonks laugh even more when Ron came down to grab some food and left with Hermione instead. They were heard giggling as the climbed the stairs. Molly smiles to herself.
"Love!" She says as she shakes her head with a huge smile.
After many broken plates and spilt soup Molly sends Tonks back upstairs to help Fleur with her make-up and such.
On her way up the stairs she spots Harry and Ginny talking quietly and she smiles to herself. Come tonight Harry will be crawling back to Ginny when he see her in her bridesmaid dress.
As Tonks pass the third floor landing on her trek up the stairs some one grabs her from behind. She lets out a yip. There is a deep round chuckle and she smiles even more.
Remus kisses her heart shaped face.
"Nice hair." He whispers softly as he runs his hand through her bright pink pixie hair.
"You like?" She asks playfully.
"No." He says seriously. "I love."
