I've been listening to too much music, and this just came off of the top of my head:
Hello- by Evanescence
Kurama went to school like every other day. No urgent missions came up, and he was sure to finish the projects required for school, even the ones he missed during his prolonged absenses. The last thing he did before leaving the house was say good-bye to his loving human mother, not realizing the pain behind her joyful eyes.
Playground school bell rings again,
Lunch came soon, and the students could play outside, or so they thought as the weather turned bad, kids filled the lunchroom, their dismal faces reflected the worsening weather. Lunch was horrid, and soon classes began again.
Rain clouds come to play again.
Torrents of rain fell from the sky, pattering on the windows as an announcement came over the cracking PA.
"Suichi Minnameno, please report to the office immediately!"
Grabbing his piles of books, he left, and minutes later he was told of the news.
Has no one told you she's not breathing?
"Suichi," the kind secretary said, "Your mother, she… her disease came back, and they don't know what to do. They say that she may die within that hour."
The secretary was right in one respect, she would die within the hour… she was already dead. Kurama was taken in a car to the hospital, on the way to which, Youko gave him quite a bit of nonsense about humans.
Hello, I'm your mind giving you someone to talk to,
Hello
'Can't you see that humans always die?' asked Youko, 'Didn't I tell you that she was a pathetic weakling? Didn't I?'
Suichi held his tongue, unable to yell back to the arrogant fox. All he knew was that the only person in the world at the time, other than the Tantei, was dying.
If I smile and don't believe
He refused to believe them when the news was broken to him – the disease had indeed taken her life. Youko yelled at him for letting himself be so weak as to be affected by it, but he was sure that the whole thing was fake.
Soon I know I'll wake from this dream.
He continues to convince himself that it was all fake, to the point where he didn't worry, but the hospital workers saw through it.
"Suichi, we know you must be going through a lot, with her death and all…."
Don't try to fix me, I'm not broken.
"I don't need your sympathy," he said as he walked off from the doorway. He never had looked at his mother's chalk-white face, or noticed the blaring straight line that was to represent her heartbeat.
Hello, I'm the lie living for you so you can hide, don't cry
Suddenly I know I'm not sleeping.
'Yes!' thought Youko, 'You don't need them, all you need is yourself and me. With your body, and my skills for thieving, we can be a great team!'
"Of course," replied Suichi aloud, not heeding those who looked at him strange. "She's not coming back, so I might as well live life alone, like I would have."
'That's the spirit!' thought Youko.
"But, I really don't see you in my future, or in being alone. Please leave now, or I will make you go!" said Suichi.
'But..'
"Now!" he barked., expelling the spirit of the fox from any existence, only able to appear in the mind of Suichi Minnameno – Kurama as some call him – during times of rage.
Hello, I'm still here, all that's left of yesterday
So, now all that's left of Youko is the fading memory of a fox, and slowly, Kurama – Suichi – is taking the place as the most wanted thief. What a pity… the disease was responsible for more than one death – the death of Shiori Minnameno, the death of Suichi Minnemno as a person of polite society, and the death of the memory of Youko. May they rest in peace.
Sorry, this came as I typed it… happens when you have music playing ALL the time in the background every time you turn on the computer…. Prepare for more by me from Evanescence and maybe a few more!
