Title: Love is beauty.
Author: Hikari-Kayko
Disclaimers: I don't own Babylon 5 or her characters. They all belong to JMS a.k.a. The Great Maker. All hail. Also, the saying "love is beauty" is not actually Minbari. It just popped into my head at some random moment. I didn't mean to ruffle anyone the wrong way, thanx.
A.N. I was bored one rainy Saturday morn and decided to do a little experimentation. This is my first S/D fic, so be kind when you review. I hope you like it.

Delenn walked through the Zocalo in her usual morning routine. Since she had arrived on Babylon 5 as ambassador of the Minbari home world she had always found this morning ritual to be very calming, until now.
Eyes followed her, staring at her as she passed. Delenn tried to ignore them, but couldn't. As she walked out of the main corridor and into the housing section of the station a single tear slipped from her eye.
To the people around her, the changes that the chrysalis had brought were unnatural, horrific even to some. Delenn had accepted this change as a way to bring her people and the humans closer together. But all it seemed to do was alienate her from both peoples as she was truly neither any more.
"Delenn?" She heard John's voice call from the bedroom as she entered their quarters.
"Yes, John. It is me." She said whipping the moisture from her eyes and smiling as he entered the living area.
"Oh, good, I was afraid you wouldn't be back before I left this morning. I have to go talk to the Docker's Guild again. There was another incident this morning and Ivanova's busy handling the league right now." He explained fastening the collar of his army of light uniform.'
"Alright, I will see you later then." Delenn replied desperately trying to keep the emotion out of her voice.
"Delenn, what's wrong?" Sheridan asked with concern taking the woman's petite shoulders in his hands.
"Why do they stare at me, John?" She asked as more tears welled in her eyes. Sheridan looked confused but held his love anyway. "They all stare and point as if I were an animal in a cage. If this is what I was mint to do in order to bring unity amongst our people then why is that not what is happening?"
"Delenn, you can't expect everyone to understand. They'll come around sooner or later, don't cry." He said catching more tears that rolled down her face.
"But why must they stare. Am I such an abomination? Am I that ugly?" She leaned into his embrace burying her face in his shoulder. John held her as she cried in silence. Her pain was his pain. It hurt him to see her cry so hopelessly.
"Delenn, you're not an abomination, people just don't understand. They stare at you because they're trying to figure you out, that's all. And you are most certainly not ugly." He lifted her face to his flashing his best farm boy's smile and hugged her tightly.
"But, how are you sure. Your people have a saying, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. What if you only think so because you care for me?" Her voice held a certain fear, like a child asking for comfort.
"Well, the Minbari have a saying to. Love is beauty. Delenn, I love you so much, more than I could ever hope to say. And if that saying holds any merit, then you really are the most beautiful woman I've met." She smiled at the flattery and he kissed her gently stripping her mind of its fears, leaving no room for doubt about his words.

A.N. Ta dah! I did it! WOW! I'm impressed with myself. I've never done this before. Well, anyways, tell me what-cha-think! I like reviews a lot! Flames and criticism are always welcome as well. Just push the little button and write a sentence or two, ka? Good. Later then,
