Here we have a part of the story that I worked very hard on. It took me a while to write this, but sadly, in the end, it didn't fit. I couldn't just bare to leave it sit on my computer, unread, so I decided to post it. It is about what Kairi was going through when she lost her heart. It's my deleted scene. Do enjoy.

Kairi was scared at first. She couldn't see, couldn't feel, couldn't hear. She wasn't even sure if she was still in her own body. She could only sense, and after awhile, she began to sense a presence. She wasn't sure who it was at first, or if they were even trustworthy. Kairi held back and didn't reach out for fear that it would be a big mistake. But soon the darkness began to grow heavy upon her, and everything actually began to feel lonelier.

Kairi didn't care anymore. She was going to reach out and see who was there with her; she was too lonely to remain idle. So with much caution, she willed herself to be closer to the presence, and right away she knew who it was; it was Sora.

Kairi called out to Sora, but he didn't answer. Yet, Kairi was able to tell what he was going through. She could sense when he was angry, tell when he was sad or worried, she knew when he was in peril. Though he didn't know she was there, she did all she could to help him. When it appeared that Sora seemed sad and like he was loosing hope, Kairi would whisper words of encouragement. When Sora seemed to be happy, she smiled with him.

There came a time when Sora seemed to be in grave peril, and yet he also seemed to be holding himself back from something. Kairi could sense that Sora felt hurt and defeated, yet his trouble wasn't over. She needed to help him, or surely it would be the end. Kairi summoned up all the strength and courage that she had, and with a mighty voice she called out his name and willed him to be strong.

A bright light flashed from somewhere, and Kairi could feel herself being ripped away from Sora no matter how hard she tried to hold on. She could suddenly feel again. She opened her eyes and found herself in a strange room, yet it seemed oddly familier. She sat up and saw Sora in front of her, glowing with a strange light, and very slowing falling backwards. Kairi got up and ran to him, but when she reached out to catch him, he dissapeared.

It turned out, as was explained to her later, that Kairi's heart had been taken from her body and was somehow inside Sora's body alongside his own heart. That is how she was able to sense him.

Sora had come to be chosen as the wielder of a weapon of awesome power called the keyblade. Riku had been possesed by a man named Ansem, and attempted to use another keyblade to steal Kairi's heart from Sora.

Sora defeated Riku/Ansem, and used the other keyblade on himself, for unlike his own keyblade, this one had the power unlock hearts. In turn, Kairi's heart was restored to her body, but Sora was turned into something known as a heartless. Luckfully, though, Sora had followed Kairi as she escaped. Though in another form, Kairi recognized the heartless following her as Sora and was able to return him to his normal state.

Sora's quest was not over, though. The world in which Kairi had woken up in was called Hollow Bastion, and as it turned out, this was the place which she had moved from to the Destiny Islands. Sora needed to return there and seal some sort of a keyhole. After that, he would have to track down Ansem and stop him once and for all.

Kairi gave Sora a keychain she had made for their trip on the raft. It was a good luck charm, and she made him promise he would return it to her. Though Sora was going with two fellows by the name of Donald and Goofy (servants of a King Mickey), Kairi was extremely worried about him. But she needed to remain behind, for it was too dangerous for her to tag along. She stayed in an empty, abandoned house in a place called Traverse Town and waited.
