( ) What 'Mione is thinkin
(a/n:) Author's note.
The street lights emerged from the darkness, shining brightly, giving people, some kind of false hope. There was a war going on, and my best friend was fighting it. My best friend of course, being Harry Potter. I met him on the first train ride to Hogwarts. When I saw him, I knew exactly who he was, knew his exact story. But then, I met my other best friend. I hated him at the time. I really did loathe his every feature. His bright red hair, his crystal blue eyes. The first time I saw him, he had dirt on his nose. I, Hermione Granger, can not and will not fall for this man!
We started out on friend terms, making stupid, wasting pranks on each other. He'd put his idiot brother's prank candy in my candy dish, and I would refuse to fix his potion's homework. (This resulted in many detentions for him haha.) We didn't really become friends till the end of our first year. After Harry defeated Voldemort for the second time in his life. (a/n: OOOO! Yes...shudder at the sound of his name...No? Oh well...Can't blame a girl for trying.) We figured that he needed friends, not battiling enemies. We got on quite well, actually. In our second year, we even got together and made Polyjuice Potion. (Which is very hard, and I don't want to see any of you second year, or any other students doing it.) We, naturally had Harry with us, but in my mind, all I could think of was him. His loose red and gold tie, untuck shirt, and cool stature, made me drop some ingrediants before getting to the pot. I was a mess, and only one person could fix it, Ronald Weasley.
Of course, I could never tell him my feelings, I would lose all hope of being friends! I couldn't lose that over some silly crush. It would pass, right? In our third year, Hagrid became one of our teachers, he wanted to start the year out with a bang. He started it off with injuring Malfoy. I'm getting ahead of myself. What happened was that he brought out a hypogryph, named Buckbeak. I remember this day, cause it was the day that I would never forget. Harry was volunteered to go pet and ride the creature. When the animal snapped at Harry, I did something unspeakable. I grabbed at Ron's wrist, my fingers lightly encased his wrist. He looked down, and blushed at the sudden display of affection. My eyes got wide, and I hurried to release my grasp. I tried to avoid eye contact the entire day after that. Later that year, we were allowed to visit Hogsmeade. I was rather surprised when Ron asked me to go with him. Harry wasn't allowed. We'd be alone, and we were. We had a wonderful time. And before we knew it, the year was over.
The years that followed we uneventful between Ron and I. But now it's our last year, and I have to tell him.
