My Future Dreams
'That day will always mark the day I dreamt of my future. You came to us...to me and manifested that beautiful black raven into the night sky and I have been intrigued by you ever since.'
I chuckle as I remember the way you looked at me. So serious, so wrapped up in your own dreadful world. You had no idea how wonderful and beautiful you were (and still are) and already caught my heart. Instead, you saw me as nuisance to the dark road that you felt needed to be walked alone. I was stubborn and would not let you go. For a moment, you let me be as you nudged me to be with another.
But, I could not forget you. I could not be without you. I dreamt of you almost every night. Yet, you continue to confuse me with other agendas and other concerns. I was reckless and hurt; I thought you didn't return the feelings I had for you and looked to another as you wished. If I only knew then what I know now, I would have changed everything. All my dreams and plans, I planted into another; but those dreams and plans were for you, and so whoever I was with considered my dreams and plans alien to them. There I realized, that future I dreamt is for You alone.
I still have those dreams and plans that were born from that day. There in this reality that has been kind enough to give us a chance as I look at you sleeping by my side with the morning sun gently caressing your still beautiful face.
'This is my dream come true' as he wraps his arms around his gift and inhale the fragrance of his love.
