Catherine is sitting at the break room table flipping through a forensic journal when Sara walks into the room. Sara reaches into the refrigerator pulls out a soda and then sits across from Catherine at the table. Popping open her soda, she takes sip and sets the can down.

"Hey, Cath."

"Hi, Sara. How's the case going?"

"Nick's waiting in the DNA lab for test results, so I'm sneaking a quick break," Sara tells her as she takes another sip from her soda.

"How's it going with you?"

"Okay. I'm having trouble finding a journal article I need."

"Did you try the internet database?" the younger woman asks as she appraises Catherine. She notes the necklace hanging from the redhead's neck.

"Whoa! That's some rock you have hanging there," Sara exclaims as she points the necklace. The necklace is a diamond engagement ring hanging from a thin gold chain.

Taken aback that Sara noticed the necklace, Catherine's hand immediately reaches for it. "Oh, Thanks. It was a gift."

"That looks like a wedding ring," Sara exclaims.

"It is. It belonged to a friend of mine's mother," Catherine tries to explain.

"You must be pretty special for your friend' to give you that ring," Sara says placing emphasis on the word friend.

A deep tenor voice booms from the doorway. "She is pretty special," Grissom says as he walks into the room and stands behind Catherine's chair. "In fact Sara, I'd like you to meet Mrs. Grissom."

As Sara meets Mrs. Grissom for the first time, her fact turns white. She tries to utter congratulations, but instead she stands up and flees the room. Her soft sobs can be heard in her wake.

"Well, that went well," Catherine, sighs.

"Sara had to find out sometime, Cath," Gil says as he sits in the chair next to her.

"I know. Its just I hoped to have some more time to ourselves before the lab found out."

"Catherine, we'll have the rest of our lives," Gil says as he leans forward and places a soft kiss to her lips. Breaking the kiss, he reaches behind her neck and removes the necklace. Taking the ring off of the chain, he slips it on Catherine's finger.

"Well, Mrs. Grissom. We don't have to hide anymore. There are some perks to that," He says as he indicates the ring on her finger.

"You're right, Gil. I love you."

"I love you too."

Together, they walk hand in hand out of the break room. They know there will be hurdles to face when the rest of the lab finds out. Especially with Ecklie, but together they can face anything.
