Windu flew out the broken window. The air whipped around him as he fell, and speeders rushed by. Master Windu slid along the cylindrical outside of the Senate chambers. He called on the Force, slowedhimself down,and did a backflip, finding a handhold. He grabbed it with his one hand and flipped forward toward a platform. Two speeders were hovering on the landing pad ahead of him. He could reach them and escape, get to a medical facility and confront Palpatine again. Anakin was the Chosen One, how could he turn on the Jedi? It didn't serve his purposes to elaborate on this topic to himself - there would be plenty of time later. He started running to the speeder, and stopped. Where was his lightsaber? He reached out to the Force but could not find it. He would have to rebuild one.
Suddenly, two Clone Troopers came out of a tunnel, probably on a routine patrol. Windu called out to them. "Troopers!"
They turned and held up their DC-15 blaster rifles.
"Are you Mace Windu?" one asked.
"Yes, I need medical..."
The trooper shot at him, missing him by meters. The other one joined in. Windu dodged the shots, surprised.
Windu threw the left-most trooper into the right one, knocking them both off the side of the platform. Hejumpedto a landing platformand entered one of the speeders. It looked as if he'd be doing this alone.
