WHERE THE HEART IS

It's funny really.
I doubt anyone even realized it was happening.
I know I didn't.
One day it just was.
Looking back, I can see the little things that lead to this. The way everyone had to band to together to survive, the way everyone accepted everyone else, trusted each other to do their jobs properly.
In general I suppose everyone feels like they belong.
When the connection to Earth shut down all those months ago, everyone started looking for a way home. We even found one once.
But things change.
Don't get me wrong, we are still looking for a way back to Earth.
We just aren't looking for a way back home anymore.
I know what you are thinking isn't Earth and Home the same thing.
That's the thing.
A couple of months ago I would have said Yes.
Now like for everyone else, they are galaxies apart.
Earth is somewhere in the Milky Way, where we left our problems and fears.
And Home is Atlantis, somewhere in the Pegasus galaxy, where our hopes and dreams now lie, where new beginnings now lie.
So it really is quite funny, a place where many of us grew up is no longer home and a place where our life is in danger every other day, Is the place where most feel they belong, a place most feel is home.
Someone once said home is where the heart is.
For me and the rest of the Atlantis team, the city is our heart,
And Atlantis is now our home .
