"You're late."
"Five minutes," he said, bowing. "Nothing of concern, my lady."
She tipped his jaw up and smiled, low, kissing the skin at her fingertips. "Everything is my concern, Zhao."
"The lady with eyes in the walls," he said. "Is there anything you don't see?"
Zula slid against him, fingers sharp at his throat. "Don't be dry."
"Of course not. Tell me," he said, stroking his palm down her waist. "What do you see for me?"
She smiled into his collar.
"Admiral," she said, "would you really like to know?"
