Old Board Games

Ed rested on the couch, his feet lain down on the table before him as he ignored Winry's constant annoying complaints. He sighed wearily and shook his head thinking, Just gone for a few years and then she gets all mad. It isn't like we weren't ever going to visit her.

His younger brother, Al, interrupts his thoughts as he whispers to Ed's right ear, "Don't you think we should apologize to Winry? I mean, you should know why she would be mad right now. Furiously mad--"

"EDWARD! Are you even listening to me?" Winry screams, supposedly also talking to Alphonse.

"No, not at all," he replies, getting up to his feet and walking around over to the shelf. His eyes spot a game that he made when he was younger. A board game. As Winry kept on babbling nonsense to him in his point of view, he opened the box which his board game was in. He found a mat with squares with a start and finishes and everything.

Winry sighed. "Ed...", finally calming down, "You're such an inconsiderate shrimp!" Or maybe not. She turned around to see what Ed was doing. She slightly gasped and saw him sitting down looking at his old board game. Right now, Ed reminded her like when he was only 7 years old.

Al kneeled down next to his brother and smiled. "Hey! I remember that game, you made it and then the three of us all played it, it was fun!" Al laughed gleefully. "I miss the old days."

Winry rolled her eyes. "You know," she began quietly. Al and Ed looked up at her and listened to what she was about to say. "It doesn't mean that we can't pretend of what we once were."

"Yeah," Ed agreed.

So, they began playing and now after a one hour of playing, not yet done, it was Winry's turn to pick a card after just rolling the dice. Getting the card on the top of the pile she smiled.

"Come on, Winry, now choose which one of us," Al says, excited.

She points to Ed and shows him the card, without letting the younger brother take a peek at it.

"Aw, do we have to?" She nodded. She dropped the card and Al read it, smiling.

Good for one hug.
