It was so utterly, permenantly, wrong.
Feeling his heart race thousands of times in a battle, but never trapped between the wall and this man, this man who smelled of infinite battles and kind words. His breathing was uneasy and tight, gasping for air and grasping at something to anchor him.
Unsure, he closed in their distance the only way he knew of, and brought their lips together.
"We still have a score to settle," said Kyuuzou, hands entangled within Kambei's strands of dark hair.
With a bitter smile, Kambei agreed. "Yes, yes we do."
Strange, how this closeness seemed to be just as distant.
