(((((Whilst I clean..inspiration hits)))))
Its 3:00am, in Sunnydale, no smart person would be caught running around town even if they didn't believe in all of the supernatural things that go bump in the night. But of course Alexander Harris wasn't really considered smart by all means. No, not at all if his grades were any evidence. So here he was, running around Sunnydale, with eyes wild and dark with worry. The wind cut right through his thin shirt, in his haste, he forgot a jacket. It was Winter in California. Of course it really didn't matter to most residents as it would never hit below seventy degress. Tonight, was an exception it seemed, the town seemed to be in a freezer, at least sixty five. Not that it bothered Xander in the least. He still ran and ran, looking for the one person to make him feel complete. It wasn't that he was in love, or liked her. No. It was just because it seemed that she needed him. Her chocolate eyes, that seemed to mirror his but with an intense pain and lonliness, called to him today, during that Scooby meeting, were Giles and Buffy said nothing bad was going to happen. His heart told him differently. It told him that maybe tonight was the night for him to save a life.
He raced up to the bell tower that was in the middle of Sunnydale High. Why they put a bell tower in a highschool was always a mystery to him. Not that it mattered right this instant. He ran up the stairs and threw open the door leading to the one room that overlooked most of Sunnydale. She sat on the windowsill, so close to falling that his breath caught and his voice came out hoarse.
"Faith?"
Her
hair swirled in the pale moonlight as she turned, her eyes unfocused
but looking right at him.
"Please..Don't do it." He pleaded.
Faith, the dark slayer, the second, stared as the Zeppo tried to get her to not jump.
"Im not jumping, Harris. Im looking.C'mere" Her voice was soft, Xander could barely hear her words.
He moved close to her, their legs touching as he sat down and stared out of the same window.
"Please dont jump. We'll miss you." He said softly.
Her eyes focused onto his. "I know. But that makes one person."
He shook his head and his own brown eyes hardened, "I'll miss you."
A bitter smile made its way onto her lips, "Can you love me?"
He stared at her, thoughts racing through his head. A moment too late he figured now when he looked back.
"I thought so.", she stood up and walked to the door,"Don't worry. Its not time to jump."
Now he was alone in the room, staring outside, staring at his world. Even with the monsters, it was still safe. At least for tonight.
