BEEPBEEPBEEPBEEP!
The sudden beeping that pulsed through Nik's brain-meats caused her to screetch at the top of her lungs, falling out of the cockpit of her voot runner.
"...THE HE--...Erp?" Her long, zig-zagged and curled antennae gave a limp twitch as she stared at the console before her, plopping back down in her seat. The tapping of a few buttons lead to her dark green oculars widening in surprise, "My...Tallest?" She scrambled to salute, blinking curiously.
"Yes, yes. At ease, Invader Nik," Red purred, Purple at his side (slurping on a soda.)
Nik obeyed, tilting her head, "My superiors, why have you contacted me so suddenly?" She hadn't heard from them in months. Apparently her vacation was over, as she had no memory for time when she could do things at her leisure.
"Well, soldier," Red began, scratching the back of his neck. He then hesitated, pushing Purple in front of the screen, "...you tell her!" The Tallest were quite aware of how Nik became when something as irritating as the task they were about to mention was brought up. She had well-known tendencies to be as violent as a Blorchian with a stuck tail and she did indeed become quite livid after hearing her leaders out.
Purple fidgeted for a moment, choking on his soda before collecting himself, "Well, you see...we have some...new Invaders that we'd like you to prep before we send them out on missions."
Nik stared blankly at the screen, "...You want me to WHAT...?" She'd never been assigned to such a task before, and the picture going through her mind was all but pleasant. She seemed to take the situation quite calmly; inside, she was pleading to Mother Irk that she wasn't going to babysit wild, off-the-wall smeets.
Red suddenly nudged his way back on screen, "You KNOW what the consequences will be if you don't do as we've assigned to you." Nik perked at his words. She was well aware that a repeat of the last time she was persistently stubborn with her leaders would be more than humiliating. She didn't think she could handle another week at Foodcourtia during the foodening, serving up sludge to ungreatful aliens at Shloogorgh's while Sizz-lorr barked orders every time she turned around and Gashloog made cheezy pick-up lines as small talk.
She growled under her breath, then uttered, "When do you want me to retrieve this...'new meat' that you speak of...?"
"A.S.A.P." Red replied sharply.
"And remember...if you don't fullfill your task, you can look forward to another week of Gashloooooooog swaying you with his...wordy...words!" Purple added haughtily, snickering under his breath. Nik bit her bottom lip with a frown, looking away.
"I'm on my way...SIRS...Invader Nik, signing off." As Purple burst into hysterics, Red quickly joining him the screen went blank. Nik heaved a disgruntled sigh, falling backwards into her chair, "...Why do I get the feeling that this is going to be a very SICKENING assignment...?"
