Whatchamacallme: A short story about the pain I've experienced when my best efforts seem to fail. I know they don't, and it only seems as if they do. But all the same, the effect of such a rejection is harsh and my heart bleeds for them. I couldn't count how many nights I've cried to sleep for them.
Well, anyway, here it is. Christ bless all of you! Merry Christmas!
They will come, Child…
Liv walked along in God's light. She was sure of every step, and she never took her eyes off her Lord. As she came closer to Him, she noticed a very different girl traveling in the darkness. She was stumbling and tripping. Her hands were bloody from landing on rocks to break her fall. She was very tired.
"Lo! Sister!" Liv cried, trying to gain the attention of the fellow traveler. "Lo!"
The other glanced at her with joyless eyes, "Leave me be, no one can save me now."
This startled Liv. How can anyone be beyond saving, she thought. Turning her eyes to her Savior, she smiled, "Surely not, sister. There is One who can save all. He is willing to save you even now. He will if you let Him."
"No. Leave me be!" she shouted; pushing away Liv's hopeful arms, she ran out of sight.
Liv looked to Jesus, "Master! Your child! Why doesn't she welcome your healing!" Her heart was aching for the girl, and refused to be comforted.
A quiet whispering accompanied by a light tickle of wind, the Lord spoke, "Not all who you meet are ready yet, My Beloved Child. Their hearts are not soft enough to allow the Spirit to work in them; move them. They will come eventually, My Daughter. Trust Me, they will come. Whether it is at the end of times when I come back in glory, or if it is through those like you, whose heart yearns for the lost ones. They will come, Child. They will come."

Whatchamacallme: By the way, the name Liv means 'life' in some odd language. I suppose it's kinda significant since she was trying to bring life to the girl. Thanks for reading it!
