Disclaimer: It's been a long time since I've posted anything on fanfiction, due to my severe writers block. Hopefully I'll be churning everything out soon. This is just a one shot I wrote in Geometry (which I've already failed so it really didn't matter what I did in that class) Remember to review! Umm this is about season one.
She's Tired of the Crying
She's tired of the crying, tired of the tears that shame her eyes and burn her cheeks like sulfuric acid. She's raw and vulnerable, but she doesn't want to be. She wants to harden her exterior so that they don't see how they've hurt her, how they've started to succeed in breaking her spirit. But somehow that never seems like enough.
She knows she has to walk alone now, that the creature comforts that she was once accustomed to are now gone. Money, friends, security are luxuries she can no longer afford. She must live day to day, survive one battle only to wake to another. Now life has forced her to trust the unknown. Stability is quite nonexistent in her tumultuous world.
Life is changing. Her mother leaves, her father's impeached, and she's uprooted from her home into a tiny, cramped apartment. She hacks off her hair in violent defiance to expectations to remain the same. Hell, if everything's going to change she might as well change with it.
The place she once occupied by his is filled with another. She wills herself to remain passive, it will only serve to give them more ammunition. When they barrage her with cruel insults she no longer hangs her head in defeat, but now she returns their barbs with clever snark. New hair, new life, new attitude. Feisty and mad as hell, she's not the same old Veronica.
Her mask is quite impressive. It hides the turmoil inside. It hides the fact that her soul is dying, that she's a shell, that she's barely a person. It hides the tears she no longer has the strength to cry.
She's tired of the crying. Tired of the lies, ostracism, blame, unknown, and pain. She will over come it all, doing whatever she must to uncover the truth, but she not out just to deliver justiceā¦.she's out to serve revenge. She's tired of the crying and now she's doing what she needs to give her peace of mind.
