Disclamier: Riiiiight, I'm JKR, I own these boys. That's why their cannon!love is actually in the books. Whatever. No money, don't sue. I don't have a job anymore, so the most you would get is some christmas cookies, and some toenail clippers.
The air was tense.
"I'm sorry." A hand rose up, shoving back a tangle of curls behind an ear. Eyes facing away from the two boys she thought she knew better than anyone.
"I just can't accept it." At those words, a freckled face fell forward, red hair falling to cover a distraught face. He had thought she would be there, understand, support…
"I'm sorry." She rose from her chair and walked away. Away from the fire, away from the warmth, away from her two best friends.
A branch in the fire fell with a crash, letting out a pop and a bit more warmth. But the green eyes looking towards the hearth did not register this. Blind to everything save for the fading vision of the girl who would not believe in their relationship.
