Disclaimer: Hah! I didn't use any names, so I don't NEED one! Up yours, Mr. B! LOL. Ya know I've got nothing but love for ya! Just in case, though. The poem is mine. The characters alluded to are supposed to be Kate and Tony from NCIS, but they can be taken as whomever you want them to be. So, the characters are Mr. B's, Paramount's, and Bellisarius Production's property. (That was horrible grammar, but Im leaving it!)
AN: This isANOTHER take on "Twilight". A what if Tony had been the one to die thing. LOL. I wrote it a long time ago, and I'm posting it along with all my other Post "Twilight" fics now that I have the net back. Yes, there are MANY of these fics. Sorry. Look for them though.
"How Could This Happen To Me", "Untitled", "That Particular Time", "Forever", and a few others. They're not all TATE though. One of them is a KARI(Kate/Ari). I know, Livi, I know. Yucky. But I couldn't help it, lol. So, yeah. On to the poem. Sorry if it sucks.
Dedicated to: Salem's Navy. I love you Ashes! And your juicy little fics! And that sad one that made me cry!
Each Night
Each night as she laid on the bed by herself
A pillow clutched to her chest
She stared at his picture with a sense of loss and regret
As her tears silently fell.
Each night she cried; each night she wept.
She'd wake up screaming his name.
Throwing herself into her work, by day she was fine,
But each night was always the same.
She screams and she cries
Memories wracking her body with sobs.
Shaking, breaking, shattering her soul
As her battered heart throbs.
Every dream is broken with nightmares
Every thought evokes memories
Each time her eyes close Hell reclaims her,
Forcing her to dare evade sleep.
In her nightmares, in her dreams
She sees his smiling face.
When he left he took a piece of her heart
No one can ever replace.
When she closes her eyes for a moment,
Flashbacks flood past to the day,
to the hour, to the second, the rooftop, the bullet,
And him pushing her out of the way.
She remembers the look in his eyes as he whispered goodbye
And tears well up again.
His hand dropped away, his gaze permanently glazed
And she wept her farewell to her friend.
They'd never been more, they'd never been less;
She'd simply held out for too long.
She'd taken for granted his presence, his laughter
And now any chance they'd had was gone.
She'd denied him the truth, buried unwanted proof
'I love you', she'd breathed, too late.
She'd suppressed her heart's pleading, now she ached with it's bleeding.
With arms wide open he'd embraced fate.
Each night she cries as in vain, she tries
To forget the victory death had won.
Choking back tears and fighting the pain
She tries to forgive the man she loved for what he had done.
She'd rather have died in his stead, ten thousand deaths
Than bear witness to his mortality.
But what's past is prologue and irrevocable;
His eyes are closed for eternity.
Now each night as she lays on the bed by herself,
His name resonating with each distraught call,
In Heaven above, God's newest angel weeps
As he watches his beloved's tears fall...
AN: Jenni, is it Each night as she lied, or laid, or lay? I love you all. REVIEW and I'll UPDATE a fic that's already up here. LOL. Also, "Effigy" and "Paper Flowers" coming soon! REVIEW!
