Family-a group of people united by certain convictions or a common affiliation. If you realy think about it, marching band is like a family.
Drum Major- Grandparent. They watch over you. They give you help and advice that no one else can give you.
Section Leader- Parent. They are always there for you. They help you when you are down. They are always willing to listen to anything that you need to say.
Others in your section- Siblings. They can get on your nerves a lot, but you cant imagine life(or band) without them. It just wouldn't be the same.
A section- An Intermeadit Family. You all are always together. You have patents and children. A group that spends time together and doesn't complain.
The Band- Extended Family. All the aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents are together. Without one person the whole experience is different.
So if you look at it like this, the band is one big family. At times you may want to strangle other people, but at other times they can be your best friends. It may also be a dysfunctional family, but it always works it self out.
Every year you meet new people and make new friends. But you always remember the people who can no longer always be with the "family" they know and love. Every year Graduation is the hardest part of the year. But soon after, you meet new members of the ever growing family. But never forget the ones not there.
I think that I may have like confused people with that, but I am kinda going through mb withdraw cuz we just had our x-mas party and I realized I will never be with that same group of people again. So I am done now. Please rr
