Ch. 1

Maradriel sighed as she sat in her favorite balcony, the one she broke twice. She had just returned from Lothlorien forest. It had been 6,853 years to the day that her mother had disappeared.

Eawen was walking by, after having a short chat with her father, Lord Elrond, and she saw Maradriel. "Hey Maradriel," she called, running over to her." How have you been?"

Maradriel smiled slightly. " I have been well, my friend." She said standing up and placing a hand on Eawen's shoulder. " Have you seen My Lord Aragorn? If he left for Gondor I shall need a swift footed mount for mine, Shorne is tired." Maradriel whispered.

" No he did not leave for Gondor he is around her probably talking to My Lord Legolas, no surprise," Eawen said laughing.

Maradriel smiled and removed her hand from Eawen's shoulder. " Do you remember what happened 6,853 years ago this day sister," Maradriel asked her voice held no sing of weakness, but her eyes held pain beyond belief. She glanced down off the balcony to see Aragorn at her mother's grave.

" I do, I must go for now, I shall return, " said Eawen, stepping off the balcony and walking towards Aragorn's mother's grave. She silently walked down to the monument, bending down on her knees, and saying a silent prayer.

Maradriel stepped off the balcony soon after and walked to her mother's grave to see her Lord Aragorn. She stood beside him silently as he placed an arm around her shoulders. She smiled at him then bent down to say a prayer," Mother, please keep Ada safe whilst I cannot, may you have eternal happiness," she said quietly then stood up slowly.

Eawen was lead by Legolas towards Maradriel, whom heard their footsteps.

" Sister, My Lord Aragorn and I are called to Gondor on urgent business…come with us," Maradriel said as they ran to the stables. Aragorn saddled Brego, Maradriel saddles Shrone, Eawen saddled Asfalothes, and Legolas saddled Arod.

"Shrone we must show the meaning of haste! Ada fades from his battle wounds," Shrone reared in impatiens as Aragorn took the lead followed by Maradriel, Eawen and Legolas. They raced towards Gondor to see Maradriel's father before he died…to be continued…
